Banner Ads
Display Ads, (a.k.a. Banner Ads) are the most common of online media.  Most comparable to print advertising, they drive a branding and/or call-to-action message and are delivered most commonly with editorial content of some type.  Display ads can be static images or animated to draw more attention. 

Display ads can take on additionally unique properties through the use of Rich Media.  Most are familiar with PennWell’s signature “page peel”, but through a number of vendors and styles of ad, the possibilities for catching website user’s attention are limitless.

Microsites
A Microsite is a website that focuses on topics of interest to a targeted audience.  PennWell’s implementation of microsites follow the overall design of the magazine website on which they will appear.  Advertisers can select from a set of pre-defined content components, including, but not limited to, articles, press releases, product information, technical white papers and webcasts. 


This product provides an exciting opportunity for a company, or group of companies, to be showcased as “thought leaders” on particular topics relevant to their market(s).

Podcast
“Podcast” is a combination of the words “iPod” and “Broadcast” and refers to any form of streaming media (i.e. video, audio, etc.)  PennWell defines podcasts as any streamed or downloaded audio, whether editorial or vendor-specific.

Video

Webcast
A webcast is an online presentation. The PennWell webcast product is a one hour, web-based PowerPoint presentation with streamed audio and/or video, and options for interactivity including

  • push mini-surveys
  • built-in chat for audience questions
  • video clips (at extra charge)
  • optional Continuing Education (CE) credits and certificate.

The product includes promotion of the webcast via the website (12 months), E-mail Newsletter, Magazine, and E-mail blast.
